Dmitriy Duyunov about boosting the competitiveness of "Sovelmash"
The company is preparing to obtain the certificate of construction completion for the D&E. The funds for that are available. Why then is funding for the project still being pursued? Dmitriy Duyunov answers this question.
"Our main objective is to reduce the cost of each part, and to do that we need to reduce the operation time. To ensure that, we must apply technological practices developed specifically for this product. Otherwise we will not be able to compete with anyone... Every minute, every second on every operation results in so much money".
So the money that is now flowing into the project is being used to purchase special-purpose high-performance equipment. It makes it possible for the company to make its products cheaper to produce.
Yes, we could halt funding for the project because the bare-bones agenda has been implemented. But we've chosen to build up the capabilities of "Sovelmash" and increase the commercial value of the company.
