Review: what is the difference between class IE4 and IE1 motors
In the "SovElMash" laboratory Igor Korkhov demonstrated the visual differences between the two electric motors of energy efficiency class IE4 and class IE1.
To maintain the experimental integrity, the motors with the same 4kW power and classic winding were reviewed.
The energy efficient class IE4 motor has the following parameters:
- rotor length - 204 mm
- copper – 256 mm
A large amount of copper accounts for the high price of such an electric motor. The short-circuiters are very thick, considerable materials consumption is apparent.
IE1 electric motor:
- rotor length 145 mm
- copper – about 220 mm
To achieve the high energy efficiency of class IE4 motor, the producers use considerably more expensive materials. Increased materials consumption directly affects the price and weight of such motors.
The task of "Slavyanka" winding is to achieve energy efficiency class IE3 - IE4 in the frame of class IE1 motor. We will be working on that!
