Questions about the laser equipment

How is nitrogen used for cutting metal?
Nitrogen is necessary for “quenching” molten metal (cutting result) and protecting metal from oxidation. It decreases the effect of the temperature on the cut to maintain metal physical properties, chemical composition and also to keep the physical dimensions of a part.
A lot of factors – speed and width of cutting, cooling speed etc. influence the final result. With all of these details taken into consideration, we will get high quality plates providing minimization of mechanic processing, manual labour and, thus, cost reduction.

Why don’t we use a stamping tool for laser cutting?
Many people are saying that it’s more effective to use a stamping tool. Meanwhile, stamping tools require replacement when changing from one part to another as well as additional mounting, settings, etc.
A stamping tool is perfect for mass production, but not needed for pilot-scale experimental production.

Metal laser cutting produces inflammable finely dispersed powder. What are the safety measures?
All the necessary measures are taken into consideration. The laser is operated in the confined space, the environment is oxygen-free, thus, there is no opportunity for combustion. That’s why pure nitrogen is used. Besides, the equipment has a dust removal and filtration system.

What plate width does the laser cut?
The maximum plate width for cutting hasn’t been practically tested, but the laser power is high and allows to cut steel with more than 20 mm width.

Will the laser be used for orders of third-party companies?
The equipment load will be quite full. But if we have “gaps” and attractive offers, completing orders for third-party companies is possible to avoid idle time.

What is the laser price?
