Why don’t we use an old plant for the project?
Dmitriy Duyunov explains why it’s more profitable to build a plant from scratch and in a special economic zone (SEZ), instead of restoring one of the abandoned facilities which are in excess supply around the country.
There are several arguments in favour of building a new plant and doing it in the SEZ:
1) An old plant means old infrastructure, unsuitable layout, rundown sewer, heating and other utility systems. A new building is made to completely meet the company needs.
2) No labour force at the place. The fully formed team reside in Zelenograd, which obviously defines the location of the future plant.
3) Any establishment needs to pay all due taxes. The SEZ means no fees for the land on which the plant is located and considerable tax relaxation.
