Work routine at ”SovElMash”: new batteries

As a part of testing the Chinese hub motor produced by Quanshun, one more controller has arrived to Zelenograd, this time it’s a controller produced in Russia with an intriguing name “Yadrenyi” (“A real kick”).

The controller lived up to its name by boosting the efficiency of the tested motor by 2%, the power - 1.5 times as compared with the results of the previous test of a motor with a sine controller Infineon produced in China.

Together with the controller, the laboratory received new lead-acid batteries manufactured by “Optima”.
The battery plates are rolled, thanks to that it can give and receive current of up to 1 kA. Besides, it has high battery cycling performance: at 70 % discharge – up to 700-800 cycles.
These batteries will be sequentially assembled and connected to the test bench together with the main supply to power the controllers (to deal with the surge current of acceleration and regeneration current).
