Applying Duyunov’s motor in China

Recently Victor Arestov has told about a new application of DA-90S motor installed and tested in a small electric car in China.

The electric car is a bit bigger than Renault TWIZY in size and weight. The original motor that was previously used in the car (weight - 29 kg, power - 5 kW) allowed it to develop the maximum speed of 47 km/h.

With a DA-90S motor the electric car develops the speed of 60 km/h with two passengers according to GPS. With the limited controller operation the current is 200 A. It was planned to install a 350A controller, but after testing a small controller with the maximum current of 275 or 220A was chosen.

The main conclusion after the conducted test is that after all of these developed speed figures and drives the motor temperature was only 62 degrees which indicates good motor efficiency.

Victor Arestov: "In TWIZY a motor with the rated values of 8 kW and the weight of 36 kg is used. But TWIZY is lighter than this car. The motor has no cooling at all, not even passive cooling, it is “bald” with no ribs. Later there will be flanges with holes".

Victor explains that the price for this car will be within the range of motorbike prices, probably even less.
