The First Domestic E-car «Еl-Panda» with Asynchronous Wheel Motors was introduced to Vladimir Putin
On September 22 the President visited “Zavolzhie” industrial park site on the “Urban transport – future prospects” exhibition in Ulianovsk.
The exhibition featured domestic e-transport solutions.
The developer company headed by its CEO Denis Schurovskiy has fundamental future plans. It’s planning to start mass production of «Еl-Panda» for retail sales in two years.
What will the performance of the e-car be?
Only at the initial stage of starting «Еl-Panda» is capable of driving 600 km on a single charge. Complete battery charge takes only 3 hours, the maximum e-car speed amounts to 140 km/hAfter a detailed study of the electric underground train, electric tram and e-bus Vladimir Putin noted that developing such an e-car is a very good and promising idea.
The President studied in detail the operation of the wheel motor on a special show bench and approved of the engineering idea.
After the exhibition at the session of the State Council Committee on passenger transportation development Vladimir Vladimirovich spoke about the need in stepping up the implementation of such motors.
"First of all, I mean mastering more ecologically friendly and cost-efficient technologies, using new power sources and extensive use of drone-type transport means. We need system approaches to the development of regional passenger service in order to connect every village, every regional locality with regular routes. We need to provide convenient infrastructure, eliminate “narrow places” that have existed for decades. Just like we did it with finishing the construction of major bridges that had been started back in the Soviet time and then dropped ", the President concluded.
Putin also presented for discussion the issue of development prospects for multimodal transportation, which means the possibility to use one ticket to get to the destination point by two or more public transport means.
And the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin answered that there are already some achievements in this direction and very soon it will be possible to get from Moscow to Novgorod by “sapsan” using one ticket with a transfer in Chudovo station on a bus to Novgorod.
